2020 Health & Safety Update
As the coronavirus situation continues to rapidly evolve, we know it is top of mind for many of us. As a precaution, we have postponed our April 4 open date. We anticipate a late April or early May opening and will continue to update the site as the situation unfolds. We believe it’s important to share the steps we are taking to keep our guests and employees safe and our facility, shuttles and gear clean.
We are monitoring this situation daily and are following CDC and local government guidelines as well as the advice of our own Panhandle Health District.
First and foremost, we are taking preventive measures to keep our location, gear and transportation clean and maintain a healthy environment. Gear and shuttles are cleaned before and after every tour, which includes using proven, effective sanitizing solutions in high-touch, high-traffic areas.
As part of our tour process, Timberline Adventures has always operated in small, distanced groups (<10) and we continue to take the health of our associates seriously. Any employee not feeling well will stay home. If a tour is disrupted due to unforeseen circumstances with your party, or if you have concerns about your tour, please contact our office at (208) 820-2080.
Most of all, thanks for allowing us the opportunity to adventure with you. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to provide a safe zipline adventure for our customers and a healthy environment for our guides and the Coeur d’Alene community.
How much are your tours?
Our full, 7-Line Lake Coeur d’Alene tour ticket price is $99 per person. We also offer a popular 7-line + Treehouse Lunch experience ($129) or 7-line + S’mores Treehouse Adventure package ($109) and a half course, 4 Line Treehopper package ($69 adults/$59 kids 10 or under). As always, we offer a 15% discount to all active and retired military. We do offer group discounts and some seasonal discounts as well. Please call (208) 820-2080 for details!
What is your cancelation policy?
A full refund will be issued to your credit card for cancellations made prior to 48 hours of your scheduled tour time. Cancelations made between 24 and 48 hours of your tour time will be charged half the price of a tour. Cancelations made within 24 of hours of your tour will be charged the full tour price. “No shows” will also be charged the full tour price. These charges will be put on the credit card provided at the time of booking. Timberline Adventures reserves the right to cancel tours due to inclement weather, foreseeable hazards, or events beyond our control. In these events, we will do our best to re-book your tour immediately or you will receive a refund. If your tour is cancelled mid tour, and you cannot reschedule, you will be refunded a prorated amount based on the price of the tour you booked. Ex. The tour is $99 +tax which = $14.14 per line. If you are only able to complete 4 of the 7 lines you will be responsible for $56.56 and $42.44 will be refunded to you. Please note that if you choose to quit mid-tour for any reason, including fear of heights, you will not receive any type of refund.
Why do I have to check in 30 minutes before my tour time?
We’re all about that no-rush experience and the 30 minute pre-tour check-in gives adequate time to get geared up, sign in, and meet your guides. It’s important for your tour to leave on time so as to not back up any subsequent tours. If you don’t arrive on time, we reserve the right to fill your spot(s) with other participant(s).
Can I bring my camera on tour?
Absolutely! If you do decide to bring your camera along, you must have a strap attached to secure it while zipping. Keep in mind that your guides will be taking pictures while you zip. You will have the option to purchase these after your tour. Be advised that Timberline Adventures is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.
Does Timberline Adventures take photos or videos for us?
Yes we do! You can purchase your photos after your tour. One picture is $10, two pictures are $15 or $25 for all of the photos taken on your tour. We do not print photos in house. Instead, they will be emailed to you with full copyright privileges.
Are there restrooms on the tour?
If by restroom you mean porta-potties, yes. Full service restrooms are available at our office within the plaza shops and we encourage you to use them before we leave for the zip line property. Porta-potties are the only onsite option and are only available at the end of the tour… which means no restroom access for at least 2.5 hours while you zip.
Can I come watch my friends or family zip, but not participate myself?
We are sorry, but this is not an option at this time.
What is the maximum number of participants allowed in each group?
We can accommodate up to 9 people per tour. If you have more than 9 people in your group we can schedule your tours to run back to back. Tours run every 30 minutes.
How far in advance should I make my reservation?
To ensure that you get your first choice, we recommend at least one week in advance. S’mores and Lunch tours are limited and fill quickly. On the other side, we may have openings as short as one day in advance but availability may be limited. During Summer months, we’d suggest booking 2-3 weeks in advance for five or more per group.
How safe is zip-lining?
Safer than your car ride to our location. Our Coeur d’Alene zip line course and equipment are inspected every morning while our guides receive continual training to maintain the highest standard of safety at all times. Our course undergoes a rigorous annual inspection and evaluation by an accredited member of the Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). Zip-lining is considered a safe activity for all participants who meet the criteria and our trained zip-line guides will teach you how to participate in a fun and safe manner.
Do I need to tip my tour guides?
Nobody’s ever said no to a tip but tipping is entirely up to you. Our guides appreciate any generosity but they are not expected or required. If you feel you received exceptional service and want to monetarily thank your guide, feel free to leave a tip. We also encourage you to review your experience with us on Google Reviews, Trip Advisor and/or Yelp.
How can I pay for my tour?
We accept all major credit cards and cash. Your credit card will be charged at the time of booking. If you prefer to pay cash, please contact us directly at (208) 820-2080.
Are there age restrictions?
All participants must be at least 7 years old to zip. We have no maximum age limit as long as the participant is healthy and can meet all of our requirements.
Do you have weight restrictions?
For general safety, we do. Riders can weigh no more than 260 lbs. If participants meet the age requirement of 7 years old but are not yet 80lbs, they may be required to ride with another lightweight sibling or guide.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, all guests must sign a waiver. Guests under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian’s signature before zipping. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult while zipping with Timberline Adventures. You can sign our waiver online or in our office upon check-in.
When I’m ziplining, will I have to brake myself or control my speed?
NO! Our guides will do this for you. We do not feel it is in the best interest of our participants to allow their hands to be on or near the zip line cable. By not requiring you to hand brake, it ensures your safety, giving you extra time to kick back, relax and enjoy the ride!
Do your tours go out when it is raining?
Yes, our tours go out rain or shine. In the event that we determine weather is hazardous, we may cancel your tour and you will be rescheduled for another day.
Where is Timberline Adventures located?
Our office is located in the Plaza Shops right next to The Coeur d’Alene Resort in downtown Coeur d’Alene. Our office is where you will meet before and after your tour. The actual zip-line is 12 miles to the east, overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene and Beauty Bay along HWY 97.
How do we get to the zipline property?
We will provide comfortable vans that will transport you to and from the property.
Can we drive ourselves to the property?
No. All of the gear needed for your zip line experience is located in our office. For this reason, you must come to our office to get geared up and we will drive you to and from the property.
